Terms of use

Last updated 2026-09-03. By using https://reelandrig.com you agree to these terms.

1. What this site is

Reel & Rig is an editorial website about freshwater fishing gear. It publishes comparisons and guides built from manufacturer and retailer specifications that were published by those companies.

We do not sell anything. Every purchase you make happens on a retailer’s own site, under that retailer’s terms.

2. What the content is not

It is not a test report. We have not fished, mounted or otherwise used the products described here, and we say so throughout. Descriptions of how gear performs are reasoning from published specifications, not observations.

It is not professional advice. Nothing here is safety, legal, financial or professional advice. Where content touches safety — ice thickness, boat electrical work, wading — it is general information, and local conditions and local expertise override it every time.

It is not a guarantee. Specifications change, products get revised, and manufacturers update their pages. We cite the source and the date we read it so you can check the current figure yourself before buying.

3. Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously: every figure carries a source link and we correct errors when they are reported. We cannot guarantee that every specification is current at the moment you read it.

Before buying, verify anything that matters to your decision on the retailer’s or manufacturer’s own page. If you find a discrepancy, please tell us — corrections get priority.

4. Prices

Prices shown are pulled from the retailer and stamped with the time they were checked. They change constantly and may be wrong by the time you see them. Where a price is older than our freshness limit, the site shows no number at all rather than a stale one.

The price you pay is the price on the retailer’s page at checkout. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell.

5. Affiliate relationships

Reel & Rig earns commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site, at no additional cost to you. This is disclosed on every page carrying such a link and in full on the affiliate disclosure page.

6. Third-party sites

We link to retailers, manufacturers and other external sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their products, their prices, their availability or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the site it points to.

7. Intellectual property

The text, structure, comparisons and analysis on this site are our work and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote short passages with a link back.

Republishing whole pages, or scraping the site to reproduce its content elsewhere, is not permitted. Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification only.

Licensed photography used on this site is credited on the image credits page, and remains subject to the license of its original creator.

8. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other readers
  • Attempt to interfere with its operation or security
  • Use the contact form to send spam or automated submissions
  • Reproduce the content wholesale on another site

9. Limitation of liability

This site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reel & Rig and its publisher are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including purchasing decisions made on the basis of information here.

Fishing carries inherent risks, including from water, weather, ice and equipment. You are responsible for your own safety, for following local regulations, and for holding any required license.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
